Hanthercraft International unveils Revolutionary Multimedia Comics Format
Corinth, MS -- November 7, 2001 - The Comic book world is going hi-tech thanks to Hanthercraft International, and getting rid of the 'Book' in the process.
That's because Hanthercraft is producing the first-ever Comic Book CD-ROM. This revolutionary new concept in comic production takes the traditional illustrated story, and puts it into your computer. The comic panels are sharp and crisp at any size. Viewers may look at a page of artwork, or at a single panel with no loss of detail. In addition, the CD has a number of interactive features unavailable to comics being produced in the print media including pages that can be cross-referenced, attached to sound, printed, or linked to other pages and to the Internet.
The Tandra CD is the first release by Hanthercraft International to utilize this new standard of interactive entertainment. Collected on the CD are the first two Tandra graphic albums redefined and updated in full color for today's audience. The CD also contains clips from the upcoming Tandra digital animation now in development, stories of Tandra created by other writers, the in-depth interview with Hanther himself, a gallery of Tandra related art, and special appearances by creators of non-Tandra works.
The Tandra CD-ROM is only the first of a proposed series of picture narrative CD releases planned from Hanthercraft International. In addition to the Tandra related projects, Hanthercraft is currently working with the publishers of other properties to adapt their features for CD release.
Hanther comes to this exciting new concept after over thirty years in the commercial illustration and advertising fields. Hanther began his career producing teaching aids for children. He then moved to New York City where he worked with the Marvel Comics Group contributing to many projects including development of the Marvel Comics Conan periodical. Though Hanther’s major life project has been the continuous publication of the Tandra series, Hanther has also worked extensively in the commercial advertising field creating ads for such clients as Coke, Ford, Pizza Hut, and McAlister’s Deli. In addition to work for various agencies, Hanther finds the time to create a weekly commentary for Clear Channel radio web sites nationwide.
