I’m sitting on my back porch looking out over the yard as the rising sun brightens the Eastern sky.

Did you hear the one about the bandit that walked into the convenience store the other day and stuck a gun in the attendant’s face and demanded all the money in the cash register? The attendant looked at the would be bandit real seriously and asked, “Sir, do you have a legal right to carry that gun?”

The Bandit looked a bit confused for a moment, then admitted, “No, I don’t.”

Whereupon the convenience store attendant explained, “Since you are not legally licensed to carry that gun, I’ll have to ask you to leave it here on the counter as you exit this store.”

The would be bandit looked shamefaced as he lay the gun down and said, “I’m sorry about that. Please take the gun and turn it over to the cops before I use it to do something stupid and I get into trouble.”

After which the would be bandit, encouraged by the “Responsible Gun Law” as proposed by Hillary Clinton and passed as a result of her National Gun Control Campaign, departed the convenience store and went to find himself an honest job after which he became gainfully employed and reliably voted Democrat for the remainder of his life.

Oh, you did not hear that story?

There’s a good reason you are not familiar with that story.

It never happened!

Thugs who use guns to commit crime are not overly concerned with “Common Sense Gun Laws”. In fact, criminals who use guns in the commission of crime support gun laws because “Common Sense Gun Laws” make the commission of a crime much safer for criminals than under circumstances where there exists the very real possibility a criminal’s potential victim may be armed.

Guns do not encourage crime. Guns discourage crime because criminals are less likely to commit a crime in cases where the victim may have the ability to defend himself from an attacker.
